Multiple survey capture solutions exist to scan and extract survey data, from document capture software to on-site and off-site document scanning services.
We will help you identify the best method for extracting survey data so that you become familiar enough with the strengths and weaknesses of each option to make the right call. We have implemented dozens of document capture software systems from vendors including Kofax, EMC Captiva, HP TeleForm, and ABBYY as well as document scanners from Kodak Alaris and IBML.
Scanning Process & Quality Control
Before the scanning process begins, surveys first need to be prepped to ensure that they are clear of debris and ready for the scanner. Advanced document capture software then extracts survey data using one of the following technologies:
- OCR: optical character recognition to extract machine print
- ICR: intelligent character recognition to extract hand print
- OMR: optical mark recognition to extract check boxes and shaded circles
- Barcode recognition
Whether your survey was previously designed or you need us to design it, we will execute recognition fields that have rules for data entry locations on the form. For example, we can limit a date field to only accept a particular range or a field that will error if a numerical value is input.
